Lindernia grandiflora (Blue Moneywort)

Sun to Light ShadeZone: 7-10, at least 1" tall Origin: USA

Web-Only! (syn: Ilysanthes grandiflora) This deciduous Southeast US native is a newcomer to most perennial gardens. With rave reviews from visitors to our garden, we figured we should share. Blue moneywort (a member of the Scrophularia family) grows like regular moneywort, with 1/2" heart-shaped leaves creeping along the ground. From each node arises a tiny, cute blue flower with a star-like white marking in the center. Flowering occurs from spring through summer. Blue moneywort has been hardy to 0 degrees F in our garden and has been happiest in moist soils. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
