Hosta 'Marilyn Monroe' is a vigorous seedling selection from open pollinated Hosta rupifraga 'Urajiro' seed the late Jim Hawes acquired from Japan. Hosta 'Marilyn Monroe' makes a 2' wide clump, composed of red petioles holding the medium-sized, wavy-edged, grey-green leaves so that you get a good glimpse of the dramatic, waxy-white backs.
