Polygonatum humile 'Run DMZ' (Run DMZ Solomon's Seal) slide #28453
Sauls Rd.

Polygonatum humile 'Run DMZ' (Run DMZ Solomon's Seal)

Light Shade to ShadeZone: 5-8, at least 12" tall Origin: Korea

NEW! (aka: P. humile A1K-043) For years I thought I knew Polygonatum humile from the commonly sold dwarf Japanese form, but when I encountered the typical species for the first time just south of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), near Korea's famed Mt. Sorak, I didn't recognize it. The 1' tall stems of light green foliage are adorned in mid-April with small, dangling, white, axillary bell-shaped flowers. As the name implies, P. 'Run DMZ' spreads slowly, making a 4' wide, but non-invasive patch in 5 years...nice for the woodland garden in moist or dry soils. Pot size: 24 fl. oz (709.77 ml)
