This great US native was only discovered in 1951 and calls the ditches and swamps from East TX across to AL home. H. liriosme is composed of glossy leaves emerging from a black-sheathed bulb. The 20" tall flower stalks emerge in mid-spring, topped with a cluster of 4-7 fragrant white flowers highlighted by bright yellow throats.
